Shiatsu is an ancient healing therapy that originated in China and was further developed in Japan. A person's vital energy known as Ki in Japanese flows through the body in channels called meridians.
The session will start with a diagnosis that is taken by gently pressing the Hara -abdominal- area. The Shiatsu practitioner then applies pressure to the 2 relevant meridians using thumbs, fingers, palms, elbows, knees and feet, adjusting the body and balancing the flow of energy.
Shiatsu is received while the client is fully clothed. Shiatsu can play an important role in maintaining good health and preventing ill-health.
Shiatsu is a deeply relaxing experience and works on all levels: physical, emotional and spiritual. Sessions will always be tailored to your particular needs.
Clients have found Shiatsu helpful for conditions such as headaches, stress, digestive problems, backaches and menstrual problems.
If appropriate, I may use CranioSacral therapy in conjunction with Shiatsu as an integrated therapy, particularly for people with head and spine issues.
A single shiatsu treatment is very relaxing and beneficial and I am happy to discuss arrangements and prices for a course of treatments to help with a particular condition.
SEATED SHIATSU is also available at a cost of £20. A session takes half an hour. This treatment is not as in-depth as a full session, but can be beneficial and very relaxing.
